Maximize Your Giving Power Forever

The UJCVP Endowment

An endowment is like an apple tree. Every year, the tree bears apples, which are harvested. But the tree itself remains strong and able to provide fruit year after year. Similarly, an endowment fund provides an annual distribution, much like an annual apple harvest, while its original investment remains whole, so distributions can be made each year.

The UJCVP Endowment strengthens and protects the Virginia Peninsula's Jewish community by building a permanent pool of charitable dollars provided by generous donors who share our vision of a strong, resilient and joyous community for generations. Guided by Jewish values, we assist donors in structuring charitable gifts, building legacies, facilitating personalized philanthropy, helping our partners establish a culture of endowment giving, and distributing community grants to a broad range of programs and institutions.

The UJCVP Endowment is an independent tax exempt public charity, separate from the UJCVP.

Giving is Personal.

Let’s work together to explore your values, passions, and giving goals.

Donor Advised Funds

Donor Advised Funds (DAF) provide a flexible and convenient way to participate in philanthropic giving. Donations to your DAF may be eligible for immediate tax benefits, while providing you the ability to determine when and how to recommend grants to your favorite charities. You can recommend grants anytime online or work with our expert staff to research and choose the best opportunities to achieve your goals.   Learn more

Custodial Funds

A Custodial Fund provides an opportunity for local Jewish institutions to partner with our Endowment. Once established, the UJCVP Endowment manages the assets of your organization and in turn, through your investment, your organization supports our local Jewish community.  Distributions can be made from the fund to the nonprofit organization upon request by authorized individuals.

Values in Action: Fundholder's Impact

Growing Love of Jewish Traditions

PJ Library sends free Jewish children's books to families across the world every month. PJ Library shares Jewish stories that can help your family talk together about values and traditions that are important to you.  The Eugene & Betty Levin Family Philanthropic Fund has provided 10,722 Jewish books to 355 children on the Peninsula since the launch of PJ Library at the UJCVP.

Creating a Home Away from Home

Hillel at Virginia Tech is a home away from home where Jewish young adults can grow personally and socially through involvement, leadership, and mentorship. The Virginia Tech Hillel Fund of the UJCVP, Inc. bolsters the vibrant Jewish life on the campus.

Ensuring Memories that Will Last Forever

Camp is time for friendship and memories. No child should miss out on the experience due to financial need. Each year, the Eric and Jack Luckman Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to campers at Camp Chaverim who cannot afford the entire camp fee.

Giving is Eternal.

Join the generations that came before us to create a lasting stream of funding that will support our Jewish community forever.
