BBYO Youth Group

BBYO Inc. is the leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement, aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences.

Through the Virginia Peninsula chapter, teens meet regularly to program within the folds of BBYO. Activities involve community service, social events, athletics, and social action projects. BBYO also has several conventions each year as well as summer leadership programs and trips to Israel. Being a part of this organization not only allows your teen to be with other Jewish teens, but guides your teen into leadership positions for the future.  BBYO is open to all Jewish 9th – 12th graders.

Changemakers: Teen Philanthropy Board

The  Teen Philanthropy Board provides teens the opportunity to put Jewish values into action.  The group use a consensus process to choose an issue area to focus on for the year, learn about non-profits, grant proposals and how to evaluate them, raise funds, go on site visits to different agencies, and eventually allocate money (that they have individually solicited and raised) to various nonprofits of their choice — all while experiencing firsthand how the grant-making cycle works and philanthropy is applied to real life.

This is a program for caring and motivated teens in 8th-12th grade who want to work together to put Jewish values into action and make a real difference.

JCC Maccabi Games

Join 3,000 Jewish teen athletes from around the globe at the world’s largest Jewish youth sporting event. The JCC Maccabi Games offers Olympic-style sports competitions, including opening and closing ceremonies; travel; community service; social and cultural events; and opportunities to make friends and memories to last a lifetime. TAL Summer Experience

Our Teens as Leaders (TAL) program offers responsible young teens entering 8th through 10th grade a unique summer camp experience. TALs form a unique cohort while transitioning from being campers to being on the cusp of a summer camp staff role.

This program is designed to equip teens with valuable skills and experiences. TALs will cultivate essential leadership skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. They will learn the art of being effective role models, gain insights into youth development, and build a repertoire of games, activities, and leadership techniques.
