The following is a statement from the Jewish Community Relations Council of the UJCVP in response to the three resolutions that came before the Senate on November 20, each aiming to block different offensive U.S. weapons shipments to Israel:

The United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula is deeply grateful for Senator Mark Warner, and all of the other Senators that stood with our ally Israel by voting to oppose the three joint resolutions of disapproval.

 

These three resolutions would have undermined Israel’s ability to defend itself at a time when it is fighting an existential war for its survival on multiple fronts.  This vote sends a strong message of friendship, unity and support to our brothers and sisters overseas and we’re thankful for that.
