Amid ongoing heartache and devastation, the UJCVP — alongside our synagogue partners  — invite you and our entire community to commemorate the first anniversary of October 7 together.

The traumas of this past year have impacted each one of us differently. But this evening will give us the opportunity to be with one another, and to find strength as a community. The event will feature music to heal our souls, inspiring speakers to remind us of the resilient spirit of Israel, and opportunities to mourn, honor survivors and heroes, and fill one another with strength and hope for our collective future.

Date: October 6, 2024
Location: UJCVP (401 City Center Boulevard, Newport News, VA) - note, event will take place in Rodef Sholom Temple.

Schedule:
6:00pm - Doors Open
7:00pm - 8:30pm - Ceremony

Is this event suitable for children?
The event is open to all ages, but some material may be difficult for young children and will be geared toward an adult audience.  As children have different levels of knowledge and comfort, we are not stipulating a minimum age of attendees, but rather, ask parents/guardians to decide based on what they believe will be appropriate for their children.  We are providing baysitting onsite for parents that want and ask that they reserve their spot here.
