Volunteering
The first words of any introduction to the Jewish daily
way of life must speak of kindness (hesed), because we
believe that Jewish religious faith and ritual observance
aim, above all, to achieve a perfection of the human relationship
and to create a better society. Rabbi Akiva, at the beginning
of the second century C.E., cited Leviticus 19:17 “Love
your neighbor as yourself” as summarizing the essence
of the whole Torah.
You can practice these teachings by volunteering in our
community at the UJC/JCC. Share lunch with a senior, read
to the pre-school children, provide a ride for someone
who is in need, etc. There are dozens of ways you can reach
out to your neighbors through our programs and our activities.
Fill out the form below and tell us how you would like
to volunteer.
